Punt: an ancient civilization rediscovered

A Nubian child of Cushitic origin. Genome analysis indicates that such Nubian individuals trace their proximal or recent ancestry to the medieval peoples of Kulubnarti, Sudan, who bore a predominant Eurasian ancestry. The Kulubnarti Nubians, in turn, descend from the earlier Meroitic and X-Group inhabitants of Nubia (i.e. the "red Nubians"), who were related to the early Cushites and ancient Egyptians.
